Membership Application for AERA's SIG/SEM

AERA Special Interest Group on Structural Equation Modeling

A note from Greg Hancock, President of the SIG/SEM:

The American Educational Research Association (AERA) has a special interest group (SIG) devoted to structural equation modeling. Being a member of the AERA SEM/SIG has some direct and indirect advantages. Directly, the member will receive a newsletter twice annually in which recent SEM news will be listed. This year, it is my hope to include titles of recent methodological articles across a variety of journals, so as to help the SEM/SIG member keep abreast of developments in our area. Indirectly, membership in the AERA SEM/SIG also increases the number of papers allowed for presentation at the annual AERA conference. This allows more folks doing SEM research in educational and related arenas to participate each year, and helps to increase the quality of the papers presented. [It should be noted, however, that SIG membership only counts toward the number of AERA paper slots allowed when the individual is also a member of AERA.]

I wish to encourage your participation in our SIG. The cost is $5.00 (U.S.) for one year, or $8.00 (U.S.) for two years. Past members are encouraged to renew memberships, and new members are encouraged to join. I also wish to encourage faculty members to sponsor their graduate students' membership in our SIG.

To re-new your membership, become a new member, or sponsor someone else, print and fill out the form below, and send it to Craig Enders along with your payment. Accepted forms of payment include personal check from U.S. account, U.S. money order, or international money order in $U.S. (this should include a routing number on the bottom and be drawn off of a U.S. bank).

Please complete a separate information sheet for each member, and please indicate whether the fee is for one year or two. Multiple memberships may be paid for with a single payment, as long as you indicate which individuals are being paid for and for how long.

Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding membership, or any other SIG-related comments. And if you know of someone who might be interested in this SIG (but who is not subscribed to SEMNET) please forward this note to them as well.

Appreciatively,

Greg Hancock, April, 1997
